The office of Whitfield Reaves, OMD, LAc, is located in a comfortable and professional building in Boulder, Colorado. His private practice, Boulder Acupuncture Sports Medicine, is limited to the treatment of musculoskeletal injury and pain. You don’t need to be an athlete to be treated. Whitfield works with all ages and all levels of active individuals. New to the clinic is colleague Chad Bong, MS, LAc. And we have close association with additional practitioners, including a physician, with varying areas of expertise. If unable to treat your condition, we may be able to assist you in finding the right practitioner for your specific needs.
There are many injuries and conditions that respond well to the acupuncture treatment techniques Whitfield has developed over the last 25 years. THE INITIAL OFFICE VISIT
The first visit is one hour, but for some patients this may be a bit longer. Proper assessment and diagnosis is then followed by acupuncture treatment. A short patient intake form and a discloser statement, required by the State of Colorado, is filled out prior to the initial office visit. This usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes prior to the appointment time. The initial visit is important to determine if acupuncture can be of benefit to the patient. Whitfield does not treat conditions after this first visit where there is not a likelihood of significant improvement.
Initial office visit, intake and treatment (1 hour): $85.00
FOLLOW-UP OFFICE VISITS AND TREATMENTS
After the initial office visit, follow-up treatments scheduled, usually for one hour. However, some less complex conditions may require only 45 minutes. Most injuries and pain syndromes require treatment one to two times weekly. We always evaluate after six treatments. If there is not significant improvement after this time, Whitfield will find a referral to a practitioner that might be able to provide more effective therapy.
Follow-up office visits and treatments (1 hour): $75.00
Follow-up short office visits (45 minutes): $65.00
INSURANCE AND PAYMENT
At the present time, payment may be done with checks or cash. We do not accept credit or debit cards. Currently, this clinic does not accept insurance. However, Whitfield can give you a “super bill” that can be submitted to your insurance company, which may be able to reimburse you directly. In addition, we do not accept State of Colorado Worker’s Compensation claims. We try to keep this office efficient and keep our costs down, thus making our office visits affordable to all patients.
